Helloooooo Buns! Welcome!

This week I have a Ruffled Dress by ASOS!

If you are not familiar with ASOS I will tell you what I know and what I've noticed so far about ASOS. It's not a sponsored post so it's just what I know and what I've experienced by trying out their clothes.

Basically ASOS has a variety of Designers to choose from but they also have their own designs labeled 'ASOS'. They also do great sales up to -70% occasionally which last long, and they have a CURVE Line as well as a TALL Line and a PETITE one. So they try hard to help any kind of bodytype to find the perfect garment. And they have a very realistic and respectful Return Policy, you buy- it doesn't fit- you send it back with no charges at all- you take a refund.I REALLY love and appreciate that because when you shop online you are never sure about sizing, especially when there is a variety of designers to choose from. So they have a very nice size guiding system where you can write down your measurements but you can also write down what size you are in different famous designers and they even ask more detailed questions for you to answer related to how your body looks like, bigger thighs, average bust, etc etc. You should definitely try it if you decide to shop with them.

So,I should order this dress in a size 48 (EU) but it wasn't available and I really wanted it so much so I thought to give it a try and buy the size 50 because I was feeling lucky...Well, I wasn't 😛 The dress is too loose and it is ruffled in that way that is not possible to alter it 🙁 . It's SUPER see-through and there is no undergarment coming with it so you need to buy your own. I like though how etherial the fabric is, it is sexy 😛 And of course because its back is open (I was really fond of it) you can forget your bra. I know that I said 'no backless dresses' but when I saw the model wearing it on the pictures, the back cut wasn't that deep as it actually was on me, reaching my waist. Soooooo unfortunatelly I can't use it for my Project. Also the dress was on sales and the price was great compared to the starting price.

So what I like on its pattern is that there are different yellowish hues of yellow and it was another version of the yellow total match concept. I also loooove the collar neck and its sleeves, so aetherial. I wasn't sure about how the ruffles would look on me (not Ruffles the chips, we all know how those look on my bum haha <3 ) but I thought 'heeey lets trust the designer behind this dress and give it a chance' and you know, because the fabric is so soft and light the ruffles actually helps your movement and the whole outfit looks cool and breezy. I reallly like this dress and I'm sad it didn't work for me snif snif.

I accessorized this one with pearls (unfortunatelly not real ones haha) and I kept the red lipstick + eyeliner on my make-up. Maybe with this dress a long pair of earrings would also be a match and I saw a couple of pairs in ZARA. Earrings no1 and Long Earrings no2  (I'm sorry I call them no1 & no2 but the models have no name) . And I found some amazing earrings in MANGO as well, you should check them out.

Soooo bottom line I'm kinda sad about this dress, I really wanted this to happen 😛  Aaaaaand I feel that after all this yellow I wore for the past 2 weeks it's time for me to experiment with some other colors as well...I NEED it hahaha...And another funny thing, I feel that if I keep on with my Project I will eventually be fed up of all the dresses and I will just want to wear sweatpants 😛 hmmmm sweatpants with my pumps? hmmmmm...

PS: I'm sorry mom, grandma, OCD friends of mine, steamers and ASOS that I didnt steam the dress, it was too delicate I got scared to 😛

Helloooooo Buns! Welcome!

I have a new dress! Yaaaaaay!

The Neon Pumps meets The Perfect Dress Project keeps going on and this time I wanted to try a 'ton sur ton' outfit. So, yellow it is!

This is another H&M dress! I bought it online in size 48 (I couldn't find it in a psysical shop). For some reason H&M, at least here in Vienna, seems to keep their bigger sizes just online. ANNOYING. Because I have to order the dress, wait like few days for it to arrive (their orders arrive very very fast though) and then in case it doesn't fit me I have to return it. Pretty much a week for me just to try a dress... Me don't like...Also this time I was a bit confused cause I never got a confirmation email which usually comes couple of minutes after you place the order (I ordered this one on a Friday evening) so I had to email them, try to reach them over their chat-window in their site -which you can use only if you speak German- and finally call them (the girl didn't speak english but was super nice) in order to get my answers. Phew...

Aaaaanyway...To the happy stuff now 😛 This Yellow Dress has buttons - yay,  pockets, and 3/4 length sleeves which are my most favorite sleeves ever 😛 . Also, its flared skirt's length is veeeery flattering.

BUT you definitely need a chemise, (I bought this one from H&M in the size XL, beige, and it fits great) because the dress is kinda see-through especially under the sun 🤣

The fabric is veeeery pleasant to touch, very airy and follows the body's movement. I really like its quality. The color is amazing, fresh, summerish and sunny! I love how it fits me, I like the elastic-band waist, I believe it looks nice on my waist. I would ADORE it even more if there weren't any pockets on the upper part for this specific event. It's ideal though for a casual outfit, I love it.

I accessorized this outfit with some pearls (they aren't real pearls, don't get excited 😛 ) and a red lipstick! I was looking for a statement necklace or huge pair of earrings in a yellow hue but unfortunately I couldn't find anything while I was walking around today.

Backstage:

This week I tried couple of faaaaaancy dresses in C&A and I would say that I kinda like the green one, what do you think?? I sized down  and it looked way better on the upper part 🙂 I'm still bit concerned though of the tattoo+priest situation if I go bare- arms 😛 .

*Thank you Lady Butterfly for taking the picture for me!

This was my Yellow Dress! Next week another one is coming and let's see how it goes 😀

Helloooooo buns and welcome to my new Project !
Let me tell you what's all this about and why I decided this to be a whole New Project.

The story behind.

Few months ago (back in 2018) my Best Man texted me the link of those amazing Unicorn Glittery Flats. If you know me at all, you are already aware that I own a small farm of unicorn items in my house (that's a whole another post for you so let's wrap it up here).
I logged in the site in order to check the size availability for those Flats and theeeen...of course I went through the entire collection which was also on sales (you know what this means)!

the box

At this point I have to inform you that it's kinda difficult for me to find a pair of shoes in my size (EU 42,US 11,UK 9) soooo when I found a huge selection of designs on this site I was tempted to buy my Summer Baptism pair of Pumps right there!

" Wait, what? Did she say Summer Baptism Pumps?.. wtf is that?! :> "

 The event.

Ahh yeah...few more things for you to catch up with...Let me explain.
Back in Greece where I come from I have my Bff from University, Elisabeth, who has two smart, adorable, sweet and round-cheeked babies <3 (that was a heart back in IRC age). I love them!

In 2017 Rafaela was born and I was her (Fairy I believe ) Godmother !
Last year my friend gave birth to our second round cute sweet baby and she asked me to baptize her as well so the girls have the same Godmother. (I'm sooooooo touched from all this love !!).
In case you are not familiar with an Orthodox Baptism let me give you some important, essential details for you to know in order to follow up our little Project.

  • it takes place in a Church
  • there is a Priest who performs the ritual
  • there are lot of guests dressed up and ready for pictures taken
  • it's me -the Fairy Godmother- carrying the babygirl around
  • it's gonna be the end of June in Greece (temperature is approx. around 30+C degrees / 86+F degrees)
  • most of the times if you are not appropriately dressed and 'approved' by the Priest you get to have him complaining / kicking you out / not performing the ritual cause of lack of modesty (oh well)
  • so anything mini, backless, showing off huge amount of cleavage, or anything that the Priest might find 'quite nude' or not 'covered' enough is a no no no.
  • it's an official-ish kind of event.
  • it's gonna take place on a Sunday morning, so the outfit can't be anything 'Grande'.
  • there is usually -especially the last decade- a 'theme' for such kind of events. That means the decoration, the color palette and the style in general are all according to this 'theme'.
  • we haven't decided a theme for this event yet and I don't really know if there is actually gonna be a theme, but we agreed that something summerish and flowery and fresh would be ideal for a summer Sunday morning event.
So, now you know SOME of our Project conditions / factors!

The statement garment.

And without further ado I present you......the SHOES!

Yeah.....I dunno what you think of those, if you like them / hate them / love them / wanna paint them black (please leave your opinion in the comments down below!) but I found this pair of Pumps kinda fresh and sharp and decided this to be the statement piece of my outfit.
The color is definitely bold, neon, (some people refer to it as neon green and some call it neon yellow). There is definitely a lot of glitter, the heel is in a very good height for me because I can't walk on higher heels, and the fitting is amazing -not smaller not larger than the average 42 sizing.

close up

i love the detail

trying to be artistic

is it yellow or green??

tok tok

The Project.

So now I need to find the appropriate dress for my shoes. Yay!
As you can see by my pictures on the 'Yo' page I am a curvy girl, I got my hair blond-ish recently and I enjoy experimenting with my style. I feel a bit uncomfortable in a preppy dress and I believe my figure looks better in a midi or long hem dress.
So I would go for :
  • a midi or long dress.
  • I would prefer its design to be kinda open on the upper part bust area.
  • and oh, I have a tattoo on my arm which ideally would like to cover during the ritual (so the Priest won't complain or ask me what's all about etc etc).
Why I find this project interesting?
I am curious how many different styles and outfits we could match to those maximalist style shoes.
Also I would like you all to suggest dresses, different styles and forms, or maybe dresses that you are just curious to see how they are paired with those pumps and a curvy girl!

That's how YOU ALL get to play with the 'Barbie the Godmother'  doll.

Sure it's an adventure for me to be a barbie doll and try lots of dresses and find the best style, the best fitting, and the event-appropriate one so I can eventually wear it on this social event of mine.

BUT

it's even more fascinating to have a dialogue over this theme with all of you, different people, different styles, you all bring your points of view over the subject so we get this Project through.

I have my own style and my comfort zone and this is great but I wonder what if there are other outfits and style combinations waiting for me to discover?

Be a part of this Project by:

  • sending me links of online shops that you know they try to keep their curvier clients happy 💌.
  • commenting underneath each outfit  🗬
  • suggesting dresses / accessories / hair and make up   😸😺😼😻

LET'S GET THIS PROJECT STARTED!!
